Meet The New Boss, Same As The Old Boss

If it is indeed true that Livejournal is undergoing yet another DDoS attack, and they are only NOW acknowledging that fact, I am actually starting to consider backing up my entire Fragbert LJ (2005-present) and saying goodbye to LJ. I bought a permanent account in 2005, and as much as I hate to cut and run, I do believe that I have gotten my hundred bucks' worth since then; it's not a fiscal decision. I have to weigh the pros and cons, (and yes, there are cons where G+ is concerned; I don't see it as a blogging site as such) but it's entirely possible that I may dust off my Blogger account (http://fragbert66.blogspot.com/) and see about using that instead.

As much as I detest the Chicken Littles who run amok, foaming at the mouth at the least bit of trouble and screech about joining Dreamwidth/Facebook/whatever, I think I am correct in saying that "this shit never happened before the Russians took over."

The Russians are at the same point right now that the U.S. was in 1995, and it's like they've just discovered Geocities. I know that nothing stays the same, and I like to think of myself as open to other cultures and nationalities, but I also think that selling LJ to a fractured, third-world country with delusions of adequacy violates The Prime Directive in SO many ways.
